Focus is still on restoration
Redemption is the restoration of man
Answer to this world is the restoration of man, societies, cultures, etc

29/05/2005 : Market Place Evangelism (Part B)
Market Place Evangelism (Part B )
Luk 18:35-43
A major paradigm shift of the church is happening & it's towards the marketplace
Faith must be specific
People have no qualms on helping the poor but not the rich
People has this idea that Jesus loves the poor & despise the rich; people love to preach to the poor.
Luk 19:1,5-7
Both Zacchaeus & Bartimaeus are sinners
Luk 19:9-10
"House" = Gr. Oikos which means economy or business
Jesus wanted to change Zaechaeus' business as well & because of the change the society benefits with his salvation: he's giving his wealth into his town
Important is the marketplace too to be changed towards God
Luk 19:11-27
Even though the master is away, his servants are still expected to gain via trading
Authority is given to the faithful
Excel with what you have.
1. God is still expecting us to excel in this broken world
2. The degree you excel is the degree that Jesus will reward you
3. Enemies will not be dealt before we influence His cities
Authority & respect comes from servant hood: we're to be ministers 24/7
Eph 4:11
Every member is a minister - serving people
Ministry = service
Job is not ministry
Word of God
Anointing of the Holy Spirit
Bible principles
4 levels of faith that God wants to bring us through
Level 1: Just a 'Christian'
No total belief
Level 2: Applies 'biblical principles'
Don't want to fall
Level 3: A Christian 'witness'
Getting people saved
Level 4: 'Total transformation'
Changing the world
Go to the top of your industry

Isa 54:1-3

Matt 28:19-20
It's not about leading individuals to Christ but leading nations to Christ.
Changing the society = Changing the environment
7 Pillars of society
1. Family = did a good job, family counseling, children
2. Religion = church, religion entity
Market place = entire society
3. Business
4. Education
5. Government
6. Arts
7. Media
If we can change the market place we can change the society
Evangelization > Transformation
Matt 16:18
Thus the church can't be locked in a building on a specific place on specific days.
The church must be active on weekdays too: the church is in the market place.
Jesus used market place speech: building on different lands, parables, etc. Miracles were done in market place not a synagogue.
His 1st miracle was in a wedding banquet, His clothes were an expensive hand-made piece, His disciples are all from of the business world, etc.
In Singapore people assumed that only full-time ministers can save the world. That's ridiculous! For they only make up 1% of the world.

We've to enlarge ourselves to contain more of God
1 Kings 6:1

14/04/2005 : Blessed, broken, given
Blessed, broken, given
Matt
Multitude ministry vs disciples making ministry
God loves multitudes! And we can have quality in quantity = A multitude of disciples!
But Disciples have more things to do: e.g. go into the boat = storm meeting time or adversities meeting time! True disciples are not made on Sunday but on weekdays.
Starbuck's Christianity: Focus was on building on the quality of the product.
Matt 16, 28: 19
Jesus will build the brand name; disciples to work on the quality.
Matt
Disciples said, ‘the multitudes need to go off now to meet their needs, but Jesus says every need can be found on Him. But He says You, the disciples, have the answers for the multitude.’
God created the needs inside of us thus the answers can be found in His Word.
Matt
Jesus believed in His disciples but we feel we don't have enough to help others.
Exactly because you only have these thus He choose you.
Give it to Him & He'll stretch it.
In stewardship you'll give God your talents & He'll use it to glorify His name. Know that the success & gifts comes from Jesus.
1stly: Jesus blesses what you consecrate. = favor from God = peace
2ndly: Jesus will break what He blesses, the self-will of ours but not our spirit.
Learn to give before you know what it's for.
Sign it & give up your will to Him.
Many are afraid that God will asks you to do what you'll hate it.
But God is not out to make you happy, He is out to make you greater.
Jesus will breaks what He blesses.
Matt
Jesus gave it back to His disciples 1st!
It's now better & it's now ready for you to give to the world.
Matt
EVERYONE'S needs are met.
Knowing Jesus as Savior does not mean we know Him as our Lord. But it should be.
Wise are the people who trust in Him.
