Not agree with everything but accept that God made no mistakes in making her your mother
Forgiveness if we need to

2. The Gift of Appreciation
Thank her for what she's done to us in our lives
The deepest principle of human being is the need to be appreciated - William James
Nobody will be motivated when they're not appreciated

3. The Gift of Affirmation
The responsibilities of being a mother is awesome
They're thus often in doubt of their own capabilities
A. Show respect
Affirmation builds the future in
B. Listen to her advice
Be slow to speak, be swift to listen

Elijah and His Depression

1 Kgs 19:1-3
Elijah was broken by the situation
2 Cor 12:7-9
God doesn't want us to be independent & proud
He wants us to lean upon Him so that He can show Himself strong in us
Elijah was depressed

What causes depression?
1. Exhaustion can cause depression
Jud 15
Samson slip into depression

2. Trauma can cause depression
Moses faces alot of trauma from the people

3. Ungratefulness can cause depression
What do we do when people forgets us?
Heb 6

Elijah experience all of the above & he slips into depression

1. God has a refreshing for you
1 Kgs 19:5-7
The Angel of the Lord is a representation of Jesus
God cares & came for Elijah

2. God has an encounter for you
1 Kgs 19:8-11
Horeb is mount Sinai - where Moses see God face-to-face
Elijah was angry & bitter due to the setbacks
Exo 34:6
Moses learnt about God's love, mercy, patient, goodness & God is giving this experience to Elijah

3. God has a word for you
1 Kgs 19:11-12
God doesn't rebuke us loudly but instead He will encourage you
