-Pst. Kong Hee

Vision Weekend 2010

Summary of 2009 achievements
Membership has crossed 30,000
Breakthroughs has been seen in all the various departments

Rev 2:1-3
CHC is like the Church of Ephesus - a church of great works
but Jesus then continued in verse. 4
But the church of Ephesus has a flaw - no longer as devoted
Jesus is not angry but He is warning them to return to their first love - otherwise they would burn out very quickly
thus likewise, we need to keep ourselves in-check every once in awhile

The key of never losing our first love is to keep the close relationship with God - commune with The Holy Spirit

Who is The Holy Spirit?
1. The Holy Spirit is a Person
2. The Holy Spirit has a Presence
3. The Holy Spirit carries a Power
He has an anointing - like oil
Acts 10:38
Ps 92:10
Functions of Oil
1. Oil lubricates
2. Oil burns
3. Oil moisturises

We need The Holy Spirit daily in our lives for the functionality of our spiritual lives - thus we need to check the oil in our lives
Oil has the tendency to evaporates, leaks & it can gives sore throat if it's used to fry things
Thus we need to check if the oil is good & if it's sufficient
The Holy Spirit will make use spiritually hungry & thirsty
Ps 42:1
As we moved into the new building, we will grow in our attendance but we need to keep our first love always.

21/02/2010 : Rich God? Poor God?

-Pst. Kong Hee

Rich God? Poor God?

CNN news- Passion over posperity
Mat 15:3,6

We will end up what we choose to believe
A traditional value that was passed down - the poorer you are, the more holy you are
We were programmed to consider that the rich people are not righteous
Because only money-loving people makes money

Economists however tell you that poverty has so much adverse effects!
Malnutrition, depression, crimes, higher mortality & etc.
Pro 10:22
Deut 28:43-45
Poverty is a curse!

9 bible reasons why Jesus was not poor

1. Jesus was showered with great treasures as a baby
Mat 2:11
The wise men brought huge treasures to give to Jesus
2. Jesus has many wealthy partners supporting Him
Luk 8:1-3
3. Jesus was able to pay for His entire ministry team
Luk 9:1-3;51-52; 22:35
Joh 4:8
4. Jesus generously fed the hungry
Luk 9:11-13
The disciples were not worried about insufficient funds to pay for the 5000 meals but it's just too late
5. Jesus had a treasurer
Joh 12:6
Judas was able to steal but never even hinder Jesus' ministry
6. Jesus never considered Himself poor
Joh 12:1-6;8
There'll be many like Judas who ask us why are we building the new building & not give to the poor?
Jesus said we can always help the poor but He is not the poor & we're building this building for Him. Not the poor.
7. Jesus cared for the poor and regularly gave to them
Joh 13:27-29
The disciples assumed that Judas is doing the usual- giving to the poor
Jesus has been habitually asking Judas to give to the poor?
8. Jesus had His own house
Joh 1:37-39
Mak 2:1
9. Jess wore good clothes
Joh 19:23-24
The soldiers even wanted His undergarments!
2 Cor 8:9
Jesus was in absolute poverty only on the cross
Jesus was not a billionaire nor was He showing off His wealth- but
Real prosperity is having the financial abundance to obey God's will whenever He wants you to, however He wants you to.

Work hard, not shortcuts
If Jesus says we can prosper this means we can do while keeping our holiness & purity

12/02/2010 : The 10 Laws of the Harvest

-Pst. Kong Hee

The 10 Laws of the Harvest

Luk 6:38
This is not a harvest scripture
As harvest is about 30, 60 & 100 fold
Such is the Superiority of a harvest proportion
Verse 38 is a extension of verse 31
Mal 3:10
Let 37
Mal 3:8 - Rob God of tithes & offering
God uses a measure to bless us back
For a harvest blessing we need to do something
1. We can work hard for it
100fold means optimum yield under any given circumstances

Law #1: Your Seed Must Be Planted.
Gen 8:22
God is no longer moved by need as Jesus has fulfilled it but God is moved by Faith

Law #2: You Must Render Your Seed Uselss to You
John 12:24
You cannot plant something & expects a 2nd benefits

Law #3: You Must Plant What You Expect to Harvest
Gal 6:7
We won't get money if we don't plant money

Law #4: Your Harvest Size Is Decided When Your Seed Is Sown
2 Cor 9:6
A small harvest is a harder problem than a big harvest- so to play safe, sow more than little

Law #5: Your Seed Must Be Planted in Good Ground
Mat 13:8
Farmers doesn't care about needy ground but good ground as harvest only comes from needy ground but good ground
Hag 2:18-19
We need to be harvest oriented not need oriented

Law #6: The Harvest Always Takes Time
Mak 4:26-27
We won't suddenly get quick money

Law #7: You Must Maintain Your Crops for a Proper Harvest
Mat 13:7
We need to be very strict & discipline with ourselves to make ourselves work

Law #8: Always Sow To Your Harvest Size, Not From Your Harvest Size
If our harvest is small today, you need to sow more so that there's enough to cover for the bad times

Law #9: A Part of Every Harvest Is for Sowing Again
Amo 9:13

Law #10: God Is a Part of Every Harvest
We need to pray over our offering

06/02/2010 : Weekend Service with Pst. Paul Scanlon

-Pst. Paul Scanlon

Kissing Frogs - a lesson in every frog

Europe has a 3% church attendance
Thus we should never take our church attendance, atmosphere & high internet penetration for granted

Num 33:1-2 (NIV)
Every journey had a stages & it should be recorded
We should be learning through each stage & God believes in re-sits of exams
Every stage has a lesson for us to learn
Thus we need to learn every lessons cause if we don't we'll be very busy as we need to relearn the previous lesson when we are in the next stage

If we fight our battles well, then our future generations will then be able to not fight that battle - David killed Goliath & his brothers which resulted Solomon being the richest king in peace time

Change is tough as it's personal
Change does not defeat people as it's simply physical
But transition is the thing that defeats people as it's emotional & mental
Our hearts & minds move slower than our bodies
Thus although the children of Israel was taken out of slavery but slavery did not leave them
Every stage of our life usually only has about 1-2 lessons to learn & God usually doesn't require us to relearn it again

We need to build big people - dream big but we need to work nonetheless
It's ok to kiss frogs as long as we don't marry it because we will one day find our prince
We all need to get bread for now but we need to also find our seeds for the future
Don't just listen for now but also for the future
God always enter our lives from the future- He call Gideon a mighty man although Gideon acts like a wimp because God sees him as a mighty man
Don't just take photos of people but keep the video going
If we based our lives on the photographs (failures) in our lives, we'll all be useless to God
Ps 139
My Rejection is my direction - it shows me which way am I supposed to go
We will always leave people & people will leave us
Destiny will require us to keep moving in life & find the right people for our destiny

City harvester : we need to know that we're not simply a fan but a season ticket-holder for the church.
