26/03/2006 : Crossing the Line

- Pst. Kong Hee

Crossing the Line

A "Paradigm" is the way you are used to thinking & doing things
If we get stuck in a past successful paradigm too, then we'll never move on! Especially in the Christianity circle: we must be willing to step across the line
Mk 4:35
Over the different barriers in life: spiritual,
Conformity is the shortest route to acceptance in a crowd
The crowd loves low-risks
Christians today are living in a paradox: we want to live with meaning & adventures in our lives but we want to be in our safety net too!
What lines do we need to cross?
1. The Line of the UNKNOWN
Heb 11:8
Want a boring life? Just repeat what you've done yesterday ;)
2. The Line of the IMPOSSIBLE
Mk11:11-12
All things can be arranged
"God delights in the impossibility" - Charles Spurgeon 1834-1892
If your job is nothing special, why do it in the 1st place?
3. The Line of POSITIVE AFFIRMATION
Don't depend on others' encouragement & praises when you want to do something great for God
Est 4:14-16
Heb 11:13
Abraham died doing something that he never personally saw
He did it for the future generations!
It's not about reaching the destination but the journey
4. The Line of the PULL of the World
Heb 11:15
Don't be stopped by cold water
Gal 6:9
Be ready to be stretched!God will not stop bringing breakthroughs in unless you stop believing in breakthroughs

19/03/2006 : The Compassion Of Jesus: His Grace Towards The Adulterous Woman

- Pst. Kong Hee

The Compassion Of Jesus: His Grace Towards The Adulterous Woman

Jn 8:1-12
Pharisees: hypocrites!
They were also badly exposed by Jesus for their hypocritical characters & they were disgusted by His kind attitude towards sinners
Jn 8:4-6
The Pharisees thought that it's a good chance for them to trap Jesus with this scenario
Jn 8:7-9
Many scholars agree that Jesus was probably writing the 10 commandments & the Holy Spirit convicted their hearts of their sins through the confrontation of the 10 commandments
And just like them, all of us has sins in our lives
The only person justified to stone was Jesus
The woman know in her heart that Jesus was the only person who is worthy of stoning her
But Jesus set the woman free!
This text was a problem-text: Jesus was supposed to judge her but He set her free?
Because Jesus know He was already on His way to the cross for her sins!
He is not here to condemned anyone

12/03/2006 : Prodigal Son

-Pst. Kong Hee

The Prodigal Son

Lk 15:11-12
Prodigal son: only want money & love the world
V. 13 Prodigal: wasteful, wild & reckless
V. 14-16 The broken-down world let him down & left him with nothing
God is not responsible for the bad news of this world, we're the ones breaking the rules of God
Humiliation was thrown on the son
V. 17 The son realised that he is 100% responsible for the mess in his life & not anyone else = true repentance
V. 20 The father's heart, mouth, arms & feet are merciful: love, kisses, hugs & run to the son
He humbles himself & reach out towards his son
V. 21 the father gave this son honor & authority over his estate again & he celebrated & gave him full reconciliation!
Just like God has given us His son

05/03/2006 : Caring for the Lost

-Pst. Kong Hee

Caring for the Lost

Matt 8:1-3
Leprosy was the cancer of that time: they had to live apart from the others & had no acceptance from their society
Mk 5:22-24;42-43
Jesus didn't ask the little girl to go into ministry work immediately but He was concerned about her needs. Please feed her! She has been sick & didn't eat for a long time
God's gentleness that makes us great!
Mk 6:33-44
Lk 5
We can give without loving, but we cannot love without giving.
Jh 9:1-11
Don't hard-sell the gospel!Never ever condemned anyone!

26/02/2006 : The Upward Call (Revival Conference 2006 with Pst. Ulf Ekman Session 3)

-Pst. Ulf Ekman

The Upward Call

Phil 3:7-14
Paul's expression of his lifestyle
What are we call to?
1. Be like Jesus
Not to only just do something but to be someone
People to see the attitude, personality of Jesus thru us
What's our perspectives of live? To make decisions in life when circumstances arise! We'll not only be moved by circumstances but we should have the perspective of eternity just like Jesus! We have to realise that we're not naturally made for heaven, instead our life is a journey of preparation. So we must be serious with our Salvation.

2. Bear fruits for Jesus
With the Holy Spirit
Phil 1:4
We'll do many things for God but there'll be 1 or 2 things that we've been ordained by God to do & will be especially good with it
Take care of the preparation & the circumstances will take care of themselves
Deut 8

3. See visions from God
Don't be move by opportunities but by the Spirit of God
The tragedy of life is when Christians liviing like they've never been born again.

24/02/2005 : Times and Seasons (Revival Conference 2006 with Pst. Ulf Ekman Session 1)

- Pst. Ulf Ekman

Times and Seasons

Acts 1:6-8
Times = restoration of Jesus the 2nd time
Eccl 3:1
Heart of God has times & seasons of God
If we understand the seasons of our lives, we can know where are heading
Be expected for the change of seasons in our lives
So know when are you in the right seasons, doing the right thing with the right people
Timing is everything
So the church must always know the seasons that they're in
Gal 6:7;9
Don't miss the elements of the seasons! Strength! Prayers!
Our life will get better!
Seasons will also leaves, do not bother to stop it. But flow with it!
Let it takes charge of you
We're not always in the harvest season; there're always seasons of preparation & sowing.
So do not panic if you're not reaping yet!
But always be prepared for a change!
Sense it! Walk in peace! Don't be bothered by it! Just flow in peace!
Be excited by it!
Zec 10:1
Like the latter rain! A much awaited rain!
Grass is the abundance of life!
Enjoy the changes of life, praise it!
Are you ready to change the seasons according to the Holy Spirit?
Jam 5:7
Rev 2
Change is, of course, not always good
Must be able to make every season of your life productive!
The Church has been moving in the shekinah glory of the Lord since history!
Former rain => beginning of life
Season of dryness
It's a coordination of the body of Christ that makes things happen
We're in the season of the latter rain: revival of Asia!
Plant a seed wherever you go!
It's eternal! & in the end-times, it will explode like never before!
