What has your affections?

Col 3:1-2

In the KJV: set your affections on the things above

Not just think of Him when we need Him

Jh 4: 23-24

Love is a choice, a decision, fixed upon Him: prayerful all the time.

5 areas we should set our affections upon.

1. Set your affections upon God

Deut 6:5

Love is an action.

Free time: think about God, wonder about the things He said, remember His words, & etc.

17/04/2005 : Sacrifice of Praise

- Pst. Kong Hee

Sacrifice of Praise

The Call of God is for everyone but not everyone is able.

Not everyone is worthy of trials of high standard, but even Jesus has to go thru 40 days of trials with Satan. What less us?

Ps 23:1-3

Difference between sheep & goats

Sheep move in flocks, eat only green grass & are friendly to people.

But goats wander alone, eat any garbage & butt people away.

Matt 12:20

Not burn out but burn on!

Keep on keeping on!

Ps 23:5-6 A great feast!

House of the Lord should be our 1st love.

Book of psalm = book of praise

Our attitude determines your altitude

Praise is a sacrifice

2 Sam 24

Praise should never cost me nothing, even when we're in troubles, we'll worship Him with everything we have. Everything. Everything.

14/04/2005 : Blessed, broken, given

- Pst. Rick Shelton

Blessed, broken, given

Matt 14: 13- 22

Multitude ministry vs disciples making ministry

God loves multitudes! And we can have quality in quantity = A multitude of disciples!

But Disciples have more things to do: e.g. go into the boat = storm meeting time or adversities meeting time! True disciples are not made on Sunday but on weekdays.

Starbuck's Christianity: Focus was on building on the quality of the product.

Matt 16, 28: 19

Jesus will build the brand name; disciples to work on the quality.

Matt 14: 16

Disciples said, ‘the multitudes need to go off now to meet their needs, but Jesus says every need can be found on Him. But He says You, the disciples, have the answers for the multitude.’

God created the needs inside of us thus the answers can be found in His Word.

Matt 14: 17

Jesus believed in His disciples but we feel we don't have enough to help others.

Exactly because you only have these thus He choose you.

Give it to Him & He'll stretch it.

In stewardship you'll give God your talents & He'll use it to glorify His name. Know that the success & gifts comes from Jesus.

1stly: Jesus blesses what you consecrate. = favor from God = peace

2ndly: Jesus will break what He blesses, the self-will of ours but not our spirit.

Learn to give before you know what it's for.

Sign it & give up your will to Him.

Many are afraid that God will asks you to do what you'll hate it.

But God is not out to make you happy, He is out to make you greater.

Jesus will breaks what He blesses.

Matt 14: 19

Jesus gave it back to His disciples 1st!

It's now better & it's now ready for you to give to the world.

Matt 14: 20

EVERYONE'S needs are met.

Knowing Jesus as Savior does not mean we know Him as our Lord. But it should be.

Wise are the people who trust in Him.
